Antonio Trindade, the owner of Portalia has worked in the restaurant business for over ten years. His experience began in the late 80’s serving and managing five star restaurants in Manhattan including Rosa Mexicana, BICE, Le Bernardin, and The Edwardian Room at the Plaza. Through his experience, Antonio found great pleasure in servicing others.
Additionally, as a family man, Antonio took his love for food to a more personal place and began cooking healthy, gourmet dinners for his family. It is a Trindade tradition to have a well-balanced 3 course meal every night.
Antonio always envisioned a restaurant that would infuse his love for food and service with his eye for elegant décor. As an Astoria resident for over 13 years, Antonio has always wanted to bring a new dining experience to the neighborhood. His appreciation for detail has created an atmosphere that is warm and casual, yet sophisticated.
Our goal at Portalia is to create fresh, contemporary dishes while offering an elegant ambiance that is friendly, intimate, and above all welcoming.
